Hi everyone, are xannies (drug) bad for one? Just found out my partner is an addict and I don’t know how to react.

Hi there! Sorry to hear about you finding out about your partners addiction. Yes, Xanax which is in the benzo drug class is highly addictive and can also be fatal when taken in higher doses.

Hi @Hovhani- I’m sorry to hear this news. I remember when I found out my brother was addicted to Xanax (my mom is also) and it’s very overwhelming and confusing, especially if it’s new to you. Have you been able to discuss this with your partner to understand the level of dependence, how long it’s been happening, if they are willing to seek help, etc.? Just remember that as much as their addiction affects you, it’s not your fault and you have to balance caring for them with caring for yourself.
